Our STORY

The Department of Hope, Joy & Wonder opened it's doors in Spring 2021.

A beautifully curated shop, with an ever changing selection of design led homeware, gifts & cards.

Catherine's aim was to create an inspiring space where you can browse and catch up with friends over a coffee.

A place where people can reconnect or just come in & have a good laugh at our selection of thoroughly rude & sweary cards.

The Department is home to The Secret Coffee Shed, where fresh coffee and cake is served in our beautiful courtyard and shed.

We are delighted to support Gloucestershire businesses. Our coffee is roasted locally by Rave who are based in Cirencester.

And the most delicious cakes are made for us by two talented Cheltenham based bakers

Creme De La Em & S Bakes.

Founded in 2006 at her kitchen table, Catherine Colebrook was an outlet for her love of colour and fabric.

Over the years Catherine has designed everything from tea towels to mugs, from trays to prints.

Her designs have been stocked by Liberty, Anthropologie, John Lewis & Habitat and many lovely independents in this country and worldwide.

She is passionate about supporting British business, with all her designs manufactured in the UK, and hand finished at the shop in Tivoli.
